Wes is married to Cynthia and they have five children and five grandchildren, and are actively involved in church-planting and theological education in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up as a missionary kid until the age of seventeen in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo where his parents served as medical missionaries.
After serving as a pastor in the United States for fifteen years, Wes and his family moved to Glasgow to start The Mosaic Community, a church-plant of Communitas International. The Mosaic Community recently birthed a second church that Cindy and Wes coach and mentor called The Upper Room Church made up almost entirely of asylum-seeking people and refugees from Muslim backgrounds.
He holds a PhD in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and a DMin from Denver Seminary. Wes is also a Lecturer in New Testament and in Urban Theology tracks for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Scottish School of Christian Mission in Glasgow and is the Coordinator of Neopolis: The Scottish Centre for Theology and Ministry in an Urban World based at the college.
