Joshua Britton

Trombone Faculty

A native of Rochester, New York, Joshua Britton earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College and a Master’s in Trombone Performance from Florida State University. A father of two, Joshua currently lives in Evansville, Indiana, where he is an active freelance trombonist throughout the tristate area. He is a frequent substitute with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a member of the nationally touring music-telling troupe Tales & Scales; Shepard Brass, the University of Evansville faculty brass quintet; the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra 2nd Street Big Band; and River Brass. Joshua has also performed with Orchestra Kentucky Bowling Green, Tidewater Winds, Chesapeake Bay Wind Ensemble, Hampton Roads Philharmonic, Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra, USAF Heritage of America Band, US Coast Guard Ceremonial Band, Northern Neck Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and others. Joshua is a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, spaghetti westerns, novelist Philip Roth, and red-headed horn players. In addition to music, Joshua is an active writer, and has published several works of fiction and non-fiction.
